💚 Honouring Strength, Celebrating Second Chances: World Transplant Day

At Red Belly Active, we celebrate more than just women in sport — we celebrate life, strength, and the unshakeable spirit that powers women through all kinds of challenges. That’s why World Transplant Day holds special meaning.

Our very own founder, Helen, received a life-saving kidney transplant nearly 33 years ago, thanks to her generous and brave mother, Bernadine who donated a precious kidney all those years ago. Her journey is a constant reminder of the power of second chances — and the incredible things women can achieve when they’re given the opportunity to thrive.

🌱 Life After Transplant

For many, a transplant marks a second chance. A second sunrise. A renewed opportunity to live, move, and thrive.

Helen’s story is one of resilience. Today, she leads Red Belly Active with purpose and passion, designing bold, functional sportswear for women who want to move through life with confidence. Her transplant gave her the chance to chase her dreams, contribute to the world, explore and be adventurous — plus build a brand that empowers others to do the same.

We’ve also heard stories from other women who returned to the golf course or pickleball court after major surgeries. Their strength reminds us why we do what we do — to create activewear that supports every chapter of your journey.

💚 Honouring the Donors

None of this would be possible without the generosity of organ donors — and the families who make the brave decision to give the gift of life. World Transplant Day is also about honouring them.

Their selflessness brings hope to thousands of people each year. Today, we pause to thank them.
